Voxtel is a leading manufacturer, developer and supplier of sophisticated detector arrays, focal plane arrays, and readout integrated circuits (ROICs) for a wide range of government, industrial and scientific applications. Voxtel has broad experience in difficult detector and readout circuit design and manufacture, which we bring to bear to solve our customers’ difficult problems. Many designs include features for ultra-low noise operations, high frame rates, increased radiation tolerance, and reduced power consumption. A majority of our ROICs are manufactured using domestic (United States) DoD trusted foundry sources and ITAR compliant fabs.

Readout Integrated Circuits (ROICs:)

Imaging and Infrared ROICs

Key product features:

  • low noise capacitive transimpedance (CTIA), direct injection (DI) or 3T amplifiers
  • multiple region-of-interest (ROI) readout
  • serial programming interface (SPI)
  • optional on-chip analog-to-digital converters (ADCs)

Wavefront Sampling ROICS

Key product features:

  • low noise capacitive transimpedance (CTIA) amplifier
  • optimized for fast gating (e.g. nsec scale)
  • multiple region-of-interest (ROI) readout
  • serial programming interface (SPI)
  • optional on-chip analog-to-digital converters (ADCs)

Direct Detection LADAR ROICs

Key product features:

  • low noise, high bandwidth amplifiers for single- or few- photon sensitivity
  • sub-nanosecond time of flight (TOF) accuracy
  • good pulse pair resolution
  • storage for multiple TOF and amplitude samples per pixel per frame
  • frame rates up to 10s of kHz
  • serial programming interface (SPI),
  • optional on-chip Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADCs)

Waveform (Fast Sampling) ROICs

Key product features:

  • sampling from a few to tens of samples in each pixel
  • sample timing as low as 1 nsec
  • multiple region-of-interest (ROI) readout
  • serial programming interface (SPI),
  • optional on-chip Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADCs)

Active/Passive ROICs

Key product features:

  • simultaneous low light level imaging and asynchronous time-of-flight or fast framing ROI transient event capture in each pixel
  • compatible with either SWIR or infrared (MWIR or LWIR) detector arrays
  • serial programming interface (SPI),
  • optional on-chip Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADCs)

Visible, NIR, and SWIR Imagers and Focal Plane Arrays

Rad Hard Visible Imagers

Key product features:

  • high quantum efficiency, including deep depletion configurations
  • back-illuminated silicon detectors coupled with low noise 3T or CTIA in-pixel amplifiers
  • correlated double sampling (CDS)
  • region-of-interest (ROI) readout
  • switchable amplifier configurations for low noise or high dynamic range signal capture
  • serial programming interface (SPI) for frame-by-frame reconfiguration

High Rate Wavefront Sensor Chip Assemblies (SCAs)

Key product features:

  • Voxtel’s InGaAs PIN (or APD) arrays coupled with low noise ROICs low noise pixel amplifiers
  • Configured with high quantum efficiency and low dark current arrays
  • programmable region-of-interests (ROIs) – including variable integration times, high dynamic range, and very high frame rates (frame 1 fps to several thousand fps)

LADAR Focal Plane Receivers

Key product features:

  • Voxtel’s InGaAs APD arrays coupled with high bandwidth (up to several GHz) pixel amplifier ROICs
  • small pixel size (typically between 24 micron and 42 micron pixel pitch)
  • temporal range resolution as low as 150 picoseconds
  • capture of either full waveforms or multiple pulse amplitude and time-of-flight (TOF) pulse events per frame
  • serial programming interface (SPI) for on-the-fly reconfiguration

Active/Passive Imagers

Key product features:

  • Voxtel’s InGaAs PIN or APD arrays integrated with dual-mode ROICs featuring both low noise low light video imaging and asynchronous event detection, transient threat event tracking, and laser pulse ranging or sequence detection functions
  • asynchronous event-driven readout, time-of-flight (TOF) record, or sparse binary event readout

Photon Counting & Event Detection Receivers

  • Silicon or InGaAs detector arrays coupled to photon counting / time of flight ROICs
